Building Departments
It's a big claim to develop departments and individuals. Here are some examples.

Capital Stress Testing
Background
Brought on to develop DCU's Capital Stress Testing and to support model development. The department had few resources and a 3 year timeline to meet regulatory requirements.
Accomplishments
Stood up Capital Stress Testing 2 years in advance
Passed external audit
Initiated Credit Forecasting models (logistic) to enhance forecasting methodology
Brought on Moody's Economic Forecasting to support CECL, Capital Forecasting, and general strategic decisioning
Second Line Credit Risk
Background
DCU's risk awareness and strategic decisioning fell short of industry standards. The oversight left large gaps for credit risks especially in Credit Cards and member oriented Pay Day Lending (Quick Loans).
Accomplishments
Working closely with SMEs I built machine learning models to digest their insights and expose risks at the loan level.
Reduced losses in Credit Card by narrowing balance transfer promotions to those likely to pay back.
Red flagged Credit Card process challenges leading to millions in losses.
Provided monthly updates on loan level risks in Credit Card, HELOC, HELOAN, mortgage, Autos, Pay Day Lending ("quick loans") and personal loans.
Economics Department

Accomplishments
Developed area into a full department.
Oversaw governance, development, and operationalizing of CCAR and scenarios.
Communicated macro forecast across hundreds of personnel in the US, Spain, and Latin America
Implemented programming to automate production and identify errors. This easily supported CCAR and monthly CECL needs.
Passed all yearly audits (internal, external and Fed/OCC)
Forecasted SOFR when LIBOR was no longer a viable interest rate
Part of the 'Brick by Brick' team that helped to build Santander's CCAR/HCR passing process.
Background
Department was a central hub for forecasting CCAR, however it suffered from:
Regulatory Audit findings, "MRA" and "MRIA"
Poor ability to support critical missions
Poor communication and delays in mission critical processes
High turnover
